Hi! My name is Shayne Commons. This is my personal portfolio and projects website, where I share my current and previous work. I live in Twin Falls, ID.
My personal story provides context for the work I do, so here is a bit about me: Though I grew up in Boise and its suburbs, I was actually born in southern California. My father is a transportation engineer, and moved us to Boise in the early 90s because Idaho's rapid growth meant there was plenty of work to be done designing the state's infrastructure. I attended Idaho public schools for all of my general education, and then went on to get a business degree from the University of Idaho. By the time I graduated, the boom which had brought me to Idaho had ended and the economy of the state (and nation) were recessed.
I chased jobs North up the Pacific coast, living in Portland, Seattle and Anchorage before coming back to Boise. While my time traveling wasn't always an exciting adventure, I did develop some incredibly meaningful relationships with friends and mentors. I've also had exposure to a great deal of both amazing and horrible project managers, communicators, analysts, and problem solvers. Now, I intend to take all the things I have learned and use my knowledge to create.
